Celebration of Love (COL) is a non-profit organization that provides food and resources to Central Texas families in crisis. Established in 2003, COL was initially developed as a simple “one day” outreach event for local families during the Christmas holiday.  Today, COL is a multi-faceted outreach organization that assists thousands of families throughout the year by providing food and ministry, as well as resources they need to get back on their feet and out of the food lines.

COL supports:

  • Soldiers of America (SOA)

    – this event takes place on the first weekend in December 2nd at Ft Hood, TX it supports over 1,800 families in need with food, gifts for their children and car give-a-way!
  • The Circle of Love

    – works with 11 school districts here in central Texas at Christmas to provide food and gifts to over 2700 families. It is a collaborative effort between the COL team, the community and the local Independent School District. Each family in attendance receives a frozen turkey and all of the traditional components of a Christmas meal to take home and prepare for their families. Christmas presents are provided for every child in attendance. This year’s Celebration of Love will be held at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock, TX.
  • Operation Pray Me Home (OPMH)

    – is a program that pairs over 400 families with a soldier from Ft Hood to provide additional love, support and ministry while they are deployed overseas.
  • The Reaching Out Center (ROC)

    – the ROC was created in 2006 Pflugerville/Round Rock area it currently serves over 200 families weekly and its mission is to assist low-income families in our area by providing food, basic life necessities, clothing and job training resources in a loving and supportive environment without borders. The ROC has recently expanded to have a full time presence in Bell County at the Fort Hood Army Community Service food pantry, feeding our military families who are in need.
  • Welcome Home Soldier (WHS)

    - This program was designed to express our gratitude to select soldiers from extremely high risk missions, while serving our great county. Soldiers are surprised with a VIP/Hollywood reception when they arrive HOME, limousine service to a 5 star hotel and dinning establishment.  Soldiers are nominated by a family member for the program as part of what would be there 15 day rotation stateside or redeployment.
  • Toys for Tots Partner

    – in 2010 COL began working with the US Marine Corps group to help manage and support their huge logistical need in central Texas. (note, I will create a separate page for this and add pictures of TFTP, but you need to tell me which pictures)

COL has grown through the help of its corporate partners and its many, many volunteers.  Please join us and we look forward to seeing you as we move through 2012.
