“Celebration of Love” (COL)
is an event that takes place during the Holidays. The COL program
is geared toward feeding the hungry and helping families
who are facing difficult times in their lives. During the event,
each family receives a Christmas box that includes a turkey, can
goods, milk, pie, bread, etc. This does not include the love gift
that is displayed to them by our volunteers on the day of the event.
With your support you will be helping us meet the needs of our communities
starting with the basics, food. By meeting this very basic necessity
we will work together to bring hope to many more families this year.
In 2007 we expanded the COL program
by feeding 3,500 families (an estimated 35,000 individuals) at
three separate locations. On December 8th, 2007, PromiseLand
West, Army Community Services and the Fort Hood Installation Chaplain's Office hosted a COL event that reached 1,300
military families at Fort Hood, TX. On December 15th, 2007, Snappy Snacks
Mobile Catering hosted a COL event that reached 1,600
families at the Foreman-Phillips Reaching Out Center location in
Pflugerville, TX. Also on December 15th, Southwest
Hills Community Church hosted a COL event that reached an additional 600 families in South Austin.
We would like to thank all of the volunteers and sponsors that made 2007 such a tremendous success.
