Celebration of Love Covid-19 Update
What a year 2020 has been so far. Like many of you, we never imagined we would find ourselves in the middle of a global pandemic. We have experienced an event which has brought changes, many permanent, to life as we know it. Despite the uncertainties we face, we are grateful for one thing ... the community that has funded, volunteered and advocated for Celebration of Love for the past 17 years.
As we all cautiously and safely move forward through the remainder of the year, you may be wondering how the pandemic has affected our programs, particularly our food pantry and our annual Christmas celebration at Fort Hood.
Their work is actually now more important than ever!
At the direction of Director Howard Chase and in partnership with Central Texas Food Bank and our many faithful volunteers, the pantry continues to provide much needed food assistance to those in the region. As expected, we have seen a significant rise in numbers, but thankfully we have had the resources to continue providing basic food essentials to those in need.
For military families, have committed to donating 1200 bikes and as many toys as possible this Christmas. While we won’t be able to host our annual fundraising auction and our traditional bike-building or holiday events as in years past, our mission is to still raise enough funds to provide a child the joy and experience of having a new bike on Christmas morning.During these tough times we know this is a big ask, but can we count on your help? Your donation, big or small, is very much appreciated.
